rStheCon Recap

Hey friends! I wanted to share my recap from the rStheCon (RewardStyle) Conference. I can tell you that I was so nervous days leading up to this big conference. I know it sounds silly, but I had all these thoughts going through my head prior to the big event...Is this conference going to be worth me being away from my family or missing my son's soccer game? Are these bloggers going to be nice? What am I going to wear? Am I going to feel uncomfortable and in turn not be my silly, goofy self? (Side note...when I feel uncomfortable in any situation I get really quite and I'm not myself.)  With that being said, I don't know why I let myself worry about these things. God tells us not to worry, so how do I allow myself to get so nervous and consumed with those thoughts prior to a big event? Well, thankfully everything was better than I could of imagined and I literally enjoyed every second with my roomies, new friends, the brands, at the events and and with the RewardStyle team. This was not a normal weekend for this mom, that's for sure. With that being said, I felt so honored to be one of the 200 bloggers invited to rStheCon event.

rStheCon is a conference RewardStyle host once a year. It's an invite only conference. You get to learn alot of info about blogging, networking, meet with some of the biggest brands like Banana Republic, Urban Outfitters, Express, Kendra Scott, Sole Society etc and meet other bloggers from around the world.

The conference started Thursday at 2 at the Crescent Hotel in Dallas. I was excited it started so late  in the afternoon so I could take my son to school (since usually his daycare takes him), surprise him for  lunch and then I made a quick stop by my husband's work to give him a kiss before the conference.

Thursday at 2 was the mixer. I checked in and my roomies and I headed to brand hall to meet the brands. I'm sure you saw on my instastory that the brand hall was booth after booth of brands.

5pm came quick and we kicked off the rooftop pool party hosted by SuperGoop at the Crescent Hotel.  It was SO fun mingling with all the other bloggers. One of my favorite things was finally meeting in person some of the girls I know through blogging. Also, it was so good seeing some of the bloggers I met back in September while I was in New York for fashion week. They ended the pool party with synchronize swimmers. Go big or go home, right!?! lol

Friday morning started off with some incredible speakers...from Amber Venz Box, then Aimee Song to Kendra Scott inspirational story. I loved when Kendra Scott said "NO" is merely a suggestion. Don't take NO for an answer...let it push and help drive you to what you want. Also, "NO" backwards means "ON." These women are truly amazing and the real Girlboss.

Next up was the Banana Republic courtyard luncheon. This was SO beautiful with flowers everywhere and a nice time to mingle with bloggers.

Then the race to change for the cocktail event Express hosted. The space was gorgeous with a seating area I felt like you would see at Coachella,  mannequins with Express clothes on, and even a 3D photo booth. After the event me and 10 other girls headed to MiCocina in uptown for dinner.

Saturday started off with classroom sessions and we headed to Marie Gabrielle for a french garden lunch. It rained so the event was moved inside. Forget raining on our parade, we definitely made the most of the cutest luncheon.

That evening was the BIG LikeToKnow.it cocktail event at the Dallas Arboretum. This was AMAZING!!! There were photo booths, a saxophone performance, a dance off with guys in robot costumes and everyone danced the night away. This was seriously unreal! And anytime mama gets to get down, I'm in! Such a perfect way to end an amazing weekend!

Hey y'all! Don't you love a quick weekend getaway with your babe? Isn't it funny how you get so wrapped up with kids, kids sports, dinners, doing laundry...basically just life and we forget to have those random date nights every once in awhile. We were really good about scheduling a date night,  once a month after my son was born. Fast forward to the present and our date nights somehow include the kiddos. lol This trip was extra special since it wasn't just a date night, but more like a date weekend in San Marvelous (San Marcos) & Austin.

Friday morning we dropped the kiddos off and made our way downtown 35 to our alma mauter, Texas State University. We arrived around noon and we decided to go reminiscing throughout town. We checked out our old apartments, my hubby's fraternity, the new stadium, everything that has changed on campus and where we used to kayak down the San Marcos River. Oh my goodness, it brought back so many wonderful memories and it's honestly weird to think we graduated over 10 years ago. Yikes! We also, went to see some family and friends. We had happy hour at AquaBrew on the patio and that evening was so gorgeous that we decided to have dinner on the patio at the River Pub (since it just opened reopened). The view was amazing and the food was just as good.

Saturday and we decided to walk around downtown, 6th street area where SXSW was going on. I mean... the amount of people up and walking around at 9am for the event was crazy! The weather couldn't of been more perfect. I'm all for 90 degree temps in March. I mean...hello spring with a spinkle of summer temps! We saw 3 Batman cars outside of one of the SXSW venues, small red carpets everywhere and unfortunately we missed Matthew McConaughey on the street. That evening we went on to my hubby's old fraternity brother's wedding at The Texas Federation of Women's Clubs Mansion. It was seriously a Pinterest dream. We didn't stop there after the wedding...a large group of the wedding party went to the bars on 4th street for a late night par-tay.

Sunday came too fast. Well, spring forward made sure of that. lol But seriously, we were ready to be back home with the kiddos, but took our time heading back. We made a pit stop in Waco at Fazoli's (a fast food Italian restaurant that I LOVE). That wraps of our date weekend and I hope you enjoy some of these spring outfits for your next trip downtown 35! Much love, Sue

13 Spring Outfits for Vegas

Hi friends! I'm back from Las Vegas and I had such a great time...other than the fact that I cannot sleep when I'm away from my hubby and the kids. So basically I had about 12 hours of sleep for the week, but hey...I made it, right! Spring time in Vegas is beautiful! The morning and evenings are a little chilly so a cardi or lightweight jacket is definitely a must on your next vacay. Also, you will be doing a lot of walking outside on your trip, so a good pair of sneakers and sunscreen is also on the list.

A few recs while you're in Vegas. You HAVE to check out Holsteins Shakes and Buns at the Cosmopolitan if you love a good burger. Did I mention they have the best shakes in town?!? I tried the strawberry and chocolate and it was delish. If you love sushi like I do, you have to check out
SUSHISAMBA at the Palazzo. Also, make sure you head the Bellagio fountains. The fountain show goes on every half hour during the day and in the evening it's every 15 minutes. This show is amazing and doesn't disappoint.

These are a few flexible pieces you can't forget for your trip.

Basic Tops are the perfect piece to layer or mix and match with any outfit.

A comfortable pair of shorts or pants since you will be doing a lot of walking on the strip.

A lightweight Jacket, Cardigan or Kimono will keep you comfortable and warm when that chilly breeze comes through.

A good pair of sneakers will keep you comfortable for a full day of walking up and down the strip. But  you can transition into a cute pair of sandals for the shows, dinners and pool parties.

A cute swimsuit for the spa or if you make to any of the pool parties.

These are 13 easy spring outfits for your next trip to Vegas. Much love, Sue

5 Spring Must Haves

Hi friends! Spring is right around the corner, so I thought I'd share 5 must haves for the Spring season. I'm so ready for beautiful weather and all the spring blooms. If only we could get past all of this rain. What are you most excited about for Spring? Do you have any upcoming vacay or staycays planned? Spring break plans? I am gearing up for a trip to Las Vegas for work, a weekend getaway with the hubby in Austin and then our Annual Family camping trip with 12 of our closest friends and all their kids.

4 Spring Must Haves For The Spring Season

1. A light weight cardi or kimono is a must have for spring. In the early mornings & late evenings it gets chilly, so you will be comfortable & cute for this upcoming season. These are a few of my faves.

2. A lightweight jacket is always nice to keep in the car to throw on if the temps drop quickly.

3. Sandals and wedges are not only comfy, but the perfect staple to pair with any outfit this season.

4. April showers bring May flowers, so all things waterproof are a must.

5. And since Easter is right around the corner, we can't forget all the fun spring dresses this season! Maxi dresses, fun spring dresses and even comfy dresses that you can wear with sneakers.

These are a few the your favorite outfits from IG for this season.
